Guoying Ding, PhD

Guoying Ding Ph.D. joined Translucent October, 2011. She has 15 years in semiconductors, optoelectronics and high speed network equipment, and has held various leadership positions in research and development, marketing and product management. She brings to Translucent her rich experience in commercializing leading edge technologies from Fortune 100 companies including Hewlett-Packard, Intel, and Cisco, to startup NeoPhotonics(NPTN).

Dr. Ding played an instrumental role for the success of HB LED using wafer bonding technology at HP ( Philips Lumileds today). At Intel, she managed low cost 10G transceiver development, led technology evaluation and implementation of strategic alignment of Intel’s communication related technologies. She is one of the early investigators in Silicon Photonics developing optical interconnect using VCSELs. She has extensive experience in managing contract manufacturers, suppliers, and customer relationships globally.

Guoying holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing.
