Michael gave an invited talk on Green Photonics at the Honet 2011 conference. This year the conference was located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Michael was unable to attend in-person so instead he 'skyped' into the conference and gave his talk 'over the internet' from his desk here at Translucent in Palo Alto, California. The technology worked well with Michael sharing his presentation on-line with the audience. Michael was able to field questions on Translucent’s GaN-on-Si for LED solid state lighting and Ge-on-Si for low cost high efficiency solar cells for Solar Systems CPV dish technology.
